The full scope of the event is still under discussion within the planning calls.  Please plan to participate in these calls and this wiki page will be updated to list the most current information when it is available.

Note, the draft scope will be finalized during the September 26 planning call. The deadline for input / changes to the scope is the September 12 planning call.

  • OPNFV Turn-up:
    • Unordered List Item Target Participants: Hardware Suppliers, Integrators, Installation Development Team(s)
    • Testing Scope: Validation of installation process on different hardware and software platforms and configurations.
  • SDN Integration:
    • Target Participants: SDN Controllers & Network Infrastructure Providers
    • Testing Scope: Validation of SDN controller integration, coupled with install process testing above.
  • VNF Applications:
    • Target Participants: VNF suppliers
    • Testing Scope: Provide underlying infrastructure and resources to help application provider verify the operation of the virtual function (installing, starting, internal functions / operation) on the OPNFV platform. Testing of the application is outside of the scope of this event.
  • VNF Portability:
    • Target Participants: VNF Management/Orchestration (MANO) product suppliers

    • Testing Scope: Blueprints for reference VNFs will be tested (deployed and lifecycle-managed) under various MANO products, to assess MANO product interoperability with OPNFV Colorado, and compatibility with the reference VNF blueprints.
  • Dovetail Testing:
    • Provide Dovertail project with feedback on initial trial runs using their testing tool chain (assuming they have a release ready by the start of the plugfest).

Plugfest Tracks

To accomplish the scope of the testing, plugfest participant will participate in 1 or more testing tracks to help organize the event and provide some planning for when elements should be available for each scope/work item.

Plugfest Report

Throughout the event, the OPNFV staff will host meetings at regular intervals, to collect feedback and status of the testing.  At the conclusion of the plugfest, the OPNFV marketing and communications team will use that information to create a white paper to describe the event, some of the testing that was acomplished, and propose some next steps to the industry for future events.  The white paper from the previous plugfest in May 2016 can be downloaded from the OPNFV website here: OPNFV Plugfest Report (May 2016).

Registered Companies

The following company have registered participants for the plugfest. (Please do not edit this list directly, Lincoln Lavoie or Ray Paik will update this list as registrations are completed.)  Each participating company also has a private page, visible only to other plugfest participants, who have agreed to the Rules of Engagement for the plugfest.

    • The plugfest will  be hosted in the UNH-IOL facility.  Full detailed about the facility are available on the UNH-IOL Website.

    • 120V AC, 60Hz, 20A Circuits, available as L5-20 Twist Lock or 5-20R (standard USA receptacle)
    • 220V AC, 60Hz, 20A Circuits, available as L6-20 Twist Lock
  • Network:
    • Bandwidth: Approximately 4 Gbps link to Internet and Internet2
    • Access: IPv4/IPv6 address space available
      • IPv4 Address Range:

      • Additional space/networks may be available if required
  • Remote Access:
    • The UNH-IOL will proide a VPN system (based on OpenVPN) for participants to remotely access the test event after hours.
    • If you need to host your equipment off-site, please contact Lincoln Lavoie to ensure the equipment can be made accessable to participants at the physical event.

Shipping Information

Please ship the equipment to arrive by Friday, December 2, 2016.  Please note, the UNH-IOL does not accept shipments on weekend days (Saturday or Sunday).  Please ship all equipment to the following address:

Setup Days

The facility is available to participants wishing to install their equipment during the week prior to the event.  The room will be available from Wednesday, November 30 to Friday, December 2, 8am to 5pm.  The test facility will be locked outside of these hours and only planned remote access will be available.

Rules of Engagement

The Rules of Engagement (ROE) define the governing principles under which the plugfest shall operate and each participant must agree to abide by these rules when participating in the plugfest(s).
