CVP for E release will include "performance" compliance tests ... lets focus on what this means and discuss requirements/methods/tools/etc.

Stress Testing and OPNFV user testing

1 hour

Trevor Cooper

Morgan Richomme

Tetsuya Nakamura

Stephen Gooch

Stress testing is a new class of tests added to Danube. This can evolve in many ways ... oen is to address OPNFV users who need a conveinient way of testing deployments without complex test framworks and setups.

NFV Interoperability Testing Methodologies  MANO<>VIM<>VNF

2 hours

Stephen Gooch, Eddy Raineri

Incorporating discussions in applying ETSI CG NFV-TST 002; how to adapt/apply this specification in the OPNFV framework. We are concurrently discussing the subject with, MANOs and pulling in VNFs to bring along with us.  There will be hardware on site from Advantech for testing.

Interpreting NFVI performance test results (tutorial/discussion)

Energy consumption is a key driver for NFV however few projects are dealing with this topic. Benoit will introduce a way to perform print of Enegry consuming when running OPNFV scenarios on OPNFV PODs. He already prototyped something on Orange PODs. The goal is to discuss the opportunity of such solution with the community.

ONAP provides a comprehensive framework for real-time, policy-driven software automation of virtual network functions that will enable software, network, IT and cloud providers and developers to rapidly create new service. This session will provide an overview of ONAP:

Role of ETSI NFV Specs 004 and 008 in future Plug* events.Al Morton, Pierre Lynch

The TST Working Group in NFV has been developing two new specs that have relevance here.

One is TST 004 on NFVI Path Testing, which defines VNF Instantiation and Path Instantiation Metrics, as well as dataplane testing of the path when it is successfully instantiated.  The latest version of TST 004 is available, with a new version expected before the Plugfest.

The second is TST 008, on normative specifications for fundamental NFVI Metrics, like processor utilization. The main point of this specification is to ensure that metrics are measured consistently and that the context of measurement is also reported (or available), such as the Scope of the measurement and the Input Factors that influence how the Metric is measured. TST 008 development has been coordinated with the OPNFV Barometer Project, and the latest version is available (TST 008).

Collaboration between the OPNFV testing community

and the ETSI NFV test working group.
Trevor Cooper

Discuss further collaboration between the OPNFV testing community and the ETSI NFV test working group. NFV TST is currently collecting ideas for future work items

and it would be beneficial to align between ETSI and OPNFV organizations.
